Merry Christmas & Happy 2010!

I had a great Christmas with family, hope you did too!

Here were my 2009 Christmas cards - I only mustered up the energy to make 16 of 'em and the rest were store bought cards.

Happy 2010! Here's to a healthy and happy new year!

Seasons Greetings!

Less than 1 week until Christmas! Hope everyone has finished shopping - I think this weekend is going to be a crazy. This year I ended up making 15 Christmas cards, although I may make a few more. The rest will just have to be bought cards... In a few days I'll show a photo of my Christmas card. Here are a few winter cards I made last weekend:

Raining on Sunday...

I would have really liked to stay in bed all day today. It's been such a yucky day. And, to bat, I haven't accomplished a single thing.

Here's a card I made last weekend:

Happy Brrrthday...

Hello and thanks for visiting my blog! It's not been very cold here yet, but I put this card together for a friend's birthday coming up this weekend... maybe it'll be colder by then! I guess I should be careful what I wish for!

Hope you're having a great week...

A couple more holiday tags...

Tag You're It! (A muse Challenge #10)

Since I've been making tags galore for the upcoming stamp club meeting, I thought I'd enter a few into the A muse Tag Challenge! The first is a "tag card" that would be perfect for including a gift card inside. The card ties shut.

As you can tell by this next one, this year I'm into BIG ribbons - I really like the look!

This last one is cute and simple!

Hope you enjoyed them!

My best buddy...

He's just so cute and so silly! I couldn't help but share...

...playing...
...hiding...

...smoking... (haha - that's his bully stick...)

Stay tuned, I'm sure there will be lots more ;-)

What a fun Saturday!

This Saturday I got to do two of my favorite things: stamping and shopping! Sherry's class at the Bridgeport store was loads of fun. The theme was shabby chic, so we distressed, framed, used lace, sanded, and colored with her Copic markers! Sherry's energy and enthusiasm for stamping and A muse stamps/papers is contagious! She's lots of fun! And I'm thrilled she visited my blog and left me comments! Thanks Sherry! Thanks also for the tip on photographing cards. I'll try it out on my next post.

After stamping I picked up my friend Dana and we headed to Carousel Mall in search of "the perfect dress" for Mark's brother's wedding. I wasn't really planning on getting one but I found this great vintage dress on the sale rack at Macy's and couldn't pass it up (despite the fact that I really need to lose about 5 lbs to fit in it better!). I also have two more on the way from Black House, White Market - they have beautiful dresses and I was able to find some sale ones that have some potential...

Today I finally got some time to work on some cards. We have 30 tags to do for the Dec. 2nd stamp club, so that's been taking up a fair amount of time and thought - and I'm still only a third of the way finished. Tags really aren't my thing, but I'll share them when I'm done...

Here are the three cards I finished up today. I didn't get to try Sherry's photo technique yet, so bear with me... This first one took most of the time, and it's the one on which I used some distressing techniques...

Logan inspired the next card, since he was really bad today! Again, he's sitting right at my side - this time shimmering in glamour dust - haha! Mark keeps telling me to distress his fur.

It's amazing how some cards take only a short while to think up and create. I did this one in about 5-10 minutes...

Thanks for viewing! Hope you got some inspiration and new ideas. Have a great week!

Visit from Vespa Girl!

This weekend was fun. Kate (aka Vespa Girl) came to visit on Sunday and we had some wine, worked on some cards, took a ride up through the wind turbines, and then ate a good dinner made by Mark! Last night I put together this card... sorry Kate, I'll probably be mailing it out this week, but I couldn't wait to post it! I need to learn how to take better photos of the cards though. If anyone has any suggestions for me please leave me a comment! They look way better in person. Again the vespa girl is in 3D, but you can't really tell.

This week I have Wednesday off for Veterans Day! I can't wait. I have to take a ride to the stamp store to pick up some paper for a project I've been working on, and since there's a class going on, I may call tomorrow to see if I can still sign up! This weekend I also have an A muse card class - I'm very excited! Hopefully I'll get another post up by the end of the week... stay tuned...

A muse stamp delivery!

Lately I've been absolutely obsessed with A muse stamps! I love their simple style. After a really bad day, it was a nice surprise to get home to my 3rd A muse package in the last few weeks. If you're not familar with A muse - check out their website: http://www.amuseartstamps.com/. Their blog has lots of great cards.

So tonight before and after going out to a nice dinner, I whipped up this card with one of my new stamps. Tomorrow it will hopefully be delivered to a terrific lady who's currently in the hospital battling pneumonia. My thoughts have been with her and her family this week. The card has 2 layers of 3D for the flower cart to give it depth, but you really can't tell by the photo.

Glad it's finally the weekend. I'm looking forward to some downtime and a visit from a friend I haven't seen in a while, and perhaps another post or two...

Make it a really great weekend!

Halloween Cards Courtesy of Mom!

So since I didn't remember to snap photos of these cards before I snail mailed them, my Mom just emailed me some. Thanks Mom!

The first uses the new halloween House Mouse stamp. The second is based on one that Mary Ann made in an all-day stamping event - great idea. Thanks to Mary Ann for showing me how to create the sky background.

Margaritas Anyone?!!

I'll go with yes! Maybe it will make this last game of the World Series more exciting! Go Yanks!

Cheers :-)

My New Blog!

After thinking over blog names for a couple days, I bounce my list off Mark. Sure enough he chuckles and doesn't like a single one! Then it takes him about 30 seconds to come up with "stamp this way!" PERFECTO! Good thing he's a bit more creative in the naming arena.

I'm already thrilled to post some of my latest card creations. Too bad I've forgotten to take photos of several recent ones - a bridal shower card and a bunch of halloween cards. Oh well, I gotta start somewhere...

This first one is of my best buddy in the whole world. In fact, he's sound asleep next to me right now! I was lucky to find a stamp that looks just like him! No no, not Mark. Introducing Logan - my 90-pound chooch of a lab!

Anyhow, hope you enjoy my first post. Hopefully more to come later.
